Thursday, November 16, 2017 - Rumford, RI: Peregrine is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Rhode Island Veterans Home, located in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Peregrine, along with the project team of Brewster Thornton Group Architects and Gilbane Building Company, celebrated the ribbon cutting ceremony this past Veterans Day with residents, the broader veteran community and local and state dignitaries.
The state of the art design combines multiple neighborhoods, where residents will now have individual rooms, private bathrooms and easy accessibility to many amenities that were far out of their reach in the past. These neighborhoods are linked together with a community "Main Street" where residents have the access to a bank, barber shop, coffee shop, physical therapy gym and over 40 acres of landscaped grounds.
Peregrine Group was designated as the Owner's Program Manager by the Rhode Island Department of Administration in 2013 for the construction of the $120.5 million, 270,000 square foot, 208-bed State Veterans Home. Peregrine, in partnership with Ownership, led the entire project process from inception through designer selection, conceptualization, design and selection of a construction manager through the State's CMAR process.
Peregrine has overseen the entire construction process for the last 30 months including on-site QA/QC and day to day project management along with managing third party FF&E procurement, installation and move management services.
It was Peregrine's special privilege to participate in the Ribbon Cutting on Veteran's Day, and witness the reaction of our veterans as they moved into their new home. We thank these heroes and their families for their service.
